Eye Examinations

Protect Your Vision With
Comprehensive Eye Care

Your eyesight is precious, and regular eye examinations are essential for maintaining both your vision and overall health. At Insight Opticians, we offer thorough assessments that can detect problems early, often before you notice any symptoms.

Why Are Eye Exams So Important?

Many serious eye conditions develop without any symptoms at first. Glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy often show no early warning signs. Regular check-ups help us spot these issues early when treatment is most effective. We can also detect general health problems like diabetes and high blood pressure through eye examinations.

What Happens During Your Examination?

Your optometrist will discuss your medical history, any current vision concerns you might have, and your lifestyle. We’ll test your sight, examine the health of your eyes inside and out and explain everything we find in clear language.

NHS Eye Tests

We provide NHS-funded eye examinations for eligible patients. You may qualify for free NHS eye tests if you’re over 60, under 16, in full-time education under 19, or have certain medical conditions like diabetes or glaucoma.

How Often Should You Have Eye Tests?

We recommend annual eye examinations for most adults. Children should have regular check-ups from an early age, and people over 40 or with a family history of eye disease should always be assessed annually.
